#10 CastleVania: The Symphony of the Night
A masterpiece. A good challenge. This beat out all the other wonderful CastleV games because this was the one that had it all.
#9 Blaster Master for Nintendo Entertainment System
This game was HARD. And huge. And simply bad ass. What else is there to say? Not to be confused with “Master Blaster” from Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome (Thanks Steams). By the way, how can it be “beyond” thunderdome, if all the events happen at or around the thunderdome?
Anyway…
#8 Metroid for Nintendo Entertainment System
This game was HARD. And huge. And simply bad ass. I guess this was a trend for some NES games.
#7 Aliens Versus Predator for Atari Jaguar
This game was scary and was basically 3 games in one. I must have beaten this game more than a dozen times.
#6 Metal Gear Solid for Sony PlayStation
A loved game. I could not put this one down. Some of the best PS1 graphics. and an AWESOME story.
#5 Resident Evil for Sony PlayStation
It was so cutting edge, nothing was like it. There was Alone in the Dark, but RE was cooler. I actually created a “survivor” mode in this (before there was survivor mode) where I put on a cheat so I could run around and not kill any zombies but collect all the weapons and ammo. Then I challenged my friends to try and survive as long as possible without using health spray or herbs. I had 4 levels (from 4 sections of the game). I may still have the saves…hmm.
#4 Resident Evil 4 for Nintendo Game Cube
This is by far the best RE game ever made. This also is one of the best action games ever made. Period.
#3 Mercenaries for Microsoft Xbox
GTA3 impressed, but this is better simply because I had more fun playing it. The explosions were some of the best seen on the Xbox and you could call in all sorts of toys and military air strikes. Mercs 2 will be awesome!
#2 Perfect Dark for Nintendo 64
This is Goldeneye but better! The first game I could play co-operatively with “Bots”. Think T-hunt if you could program a hand full of respawning terrorist and create literally 100’s of game modes.
And the #1 game…
The Legend of Zelda for Nintendo Entertainment System
By far this is the best Zelda IMO. There was not much of a story as it was a huge adventure. This beat out LOZ: Orcania of Time because of a personal story with this game. As a kid I actually went on a quest to get this game (and it had to be the gold cart), I searched for it two whole separate days in the snow (okay up to the time I was allowed to go out to the time I had to be home). It was a great day when I finally found it.

Honorable Mention
River City Ransom for Nintendo Entertainment System.
